New Works by Laura Jean Dannhauser takes on subject matter intended to draw the viewer into unpredictable cycles of thought and association. The work provides an experimental chance to challenge the viewer’s perceptions and assumptions about the worlds both inside and around us. By combining canvasses with sculptural techniques, the artist creates paintings that give a tactile experience.
Laura Dannhauser is a naive artist. From Southern California, to Bali Indonesia to Wisconsin. She has spent the last 2 years experimenting with different mediums and subject matter. She works in several media: doll making, stop motion animation, toy demos, watercolor, oil pastel, ceramic tile portraits, and street art. Her latest endeavors mix many of these techniques directly on canvas. Her work has been exhibited in local businesses, regional and international galleries, including House of Cars, a traveling group expedition from Milwaukee Art Museum, KM Art Gallery, and Gallery 2622. She is currently the resident artist at “Your CBD” in Greenfield.
